Kenneth J. Fransen is the resident partner in the Clovis office of Bolen, Fransen & Russell LLP.
Ken co-founded the firm in 1987.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Ken arrived in Fresno with his family in 1967. Now a U.S. citizen, he graduated from California State University Fresno in 1974 with a BA in history (summa cum laude), and obtained his JD degree from UCLA School of Law in 1977 (Order of the Coif).
Ken handles a wide variety of transactional matters, emphasizing business and real estate, estate planning, and water/agricultural law. In his work, he particularly enjoys weaving the often inconsistent requirements of income and estate tax laws, practical realities, and regulatory provisions into a unified plan that integrates client goals and legal requirements. He has written articles and spoken widely on transactional matters, and has been an adjunct professor of law in the areas of agricultural law and water law at the San Joaquin College of Law.
Ken has been active in many groups and organizations, and has been president and/or on the board of directors of many of them, including Fresno Pacific University, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, Clovis Rotary, and Habitat for Humanity Fresno, Inc. He and his wife Carol have been married for over 28 years, and they have three grown children. Ken and Carol live on 15 acres and enjoy putting on "cowboy barbeques" for various civic groups. They also enjoy trips to the coast and other destinations, particularly on their motorcycle.
